This single-family residence in Al Diriyah designed by Abourass Design Lab is a tribute to structural integrity and the harmonious blend of featuring site crafted raw, natural materials with architectural machined precision. Featuring three bedroom suites and one master suite, the home celebrates the authenticity of earth-based construction methods combined with traditional Najdi design elements. The design inspiration stems from the soft, overlapping silhouettes of date palm leaves and reeds, creating intricate shadows that evoke a sense of place and nostalgia for the Wadi Hanifa region. The home is designed to feel as though it rises organically from the landscape, while visually departing from convention by means of celebrating exposed structural elements. An honesty is evident throughout this home as it commemorates both building protocols as unapologetically beautiful while honoring the cultural significance of the region while embracing both traditional and state of the art construction methodologies. Traditionally Najdi cultural motifs are sung throughout this home as it pays homage to the place, purpose and privilege of being a home in the historic richness of Ad Diririyah’s Wadi Hanifa.​
